ENERGETIC WALKSDirections HERACLES' WELL WALK 2 - 3 hours This is a testing but extremely rewarding walk along an ancient path up the hill to the north of Ancient Phigaleia. Before 4x4s became the preferred method of transport, people would use this route to travel to Perivolia on their donkeys. It affords wonderful views of modern day Phigaleia and the fortifications of the ancient city with its lookout towers and postern gates ('side doors'). You can also take a detour to the well where Heracles won a contest against Lepreos to see who could draw most water before becoming exhausted.
