ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF OLYMPIA
Surrounded by a botanical garden, the Archaeological Museum exhibits finds from the site in twelve halls covering over 3,500 years of history, from the 3rd millennium BC when humans first settled in Olympia to the twilight of Zeus' sanctuary in the 7th century AD. It is renowned for its collections of bronzes and sculptures including a statue of Hermes by Praxiteles and the pediments from the Temple of Zeus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
There is also a Museum of the History of the Excavations and another covering the history of the Olympic games.
