ROUTES TO THE ARK Directions FROM KALAMATA AIRPORT All routes from Kalamata airport to The Ark in Ancient Phigaleia involve driving to Kopanaki, a valley town leading to the mountains and the Neda gorge. The most obvious way to get to Kopanaki is to take the Kalamata-to-Corinth Moreas motorway (E65) as far as the Patra / Pyrgos intersection. Or you can take the old road that emerges onto the same road (E55) to Kopanaki. This road passes through Agios Floros which is famous for its spring. Alternatively, head to Messini - stop off at Lidl - and cut cross country towards Meligalas ('milk and honey'), a small town just to the south of the E55.
