CHURCH OF THE PANAGIA (VIRGIN MARY)
This imposing church with its twin bell towers marks a crossroads in Diavolitsi where tourists must decide whether to head west towards the Temple of Apollo or east to the Chapel of Saint Theodora. Its garden is a nice place to choose.
Often a church's courtyard doubles as a town's square but Diavolitsi has a separate plateia, so a garden surrounds the church. It features a memorial depicting a grieving woman and an orchard of orange trees with their trunks painted white. Painting of a more artistic nature can found in the church's forecourt where images rich in colour and symbolism flank the three main doors.
