VILLAGESChurch of Saint Dimitris STASIMO One of the few bridges over the Neda river is the Turkish bridge near Kakaletri. If you cross this bridge from the north, you will come to the village of Stasimo which means 'stationary' in Greek. It is also the name of a choral song in an ancient Greek tragedy in which the chorus reacts to the preceding episode. Despite looking sleepy, Stasmio is not standing still. The fountain area next to the kennels on the southern outskirts was revamped in 2002 whilst the walkway leading to the well below the church has been gentrified. And, the caféneon has diversified into a mini supermarket for locals and tourists alike.
