TOWNSChurch of Saint Panteleimonas ZACHARO Zacharo is a market town enveloped in pines and olive trees bordered by the enormous stretch of beach that attracts the tourists. It is the urban centre of the area and has a variety of shops, supermarkets, cafés, banks, a post office and an open air market every Tuesday morning. It is the perfect place to do some shopping, have a meal or just sit and drink in one of the many cafés catering for locals and tourists alike. You might even find somewhere to check your email but not on 12 December, the feast day of Zacharo's patron, Saint Spyridon and a holiday for the town. Nothing opens.
