This is a magical walk exploring the wooded slope below The Ark. Taking in ancient stone walls, hanging gardens, walnut trees, a quarry and cave it will remind you why you made the journey to Ancient Phigaleia. Although much of the walk is undercover you will emerge onto a limestone slope with great views.
     The walk is unpredictable and sometimes, if the vegetation is very overgrown or there is too much water flowing down the mountainside, the detour to the stonemasons' cave and ancient quarry has to be abandoned.
