CHURCH OF SAINTS CONSTANTINE & HELENA
The Church of Saints Constantine & Helena in Dorio is very well maintained. It's red and white paint work is immaculate whilst the courtyard, dotted with tables, benches and well tended pot plants, is surrounded by a springy, green lawn.
A native Greek, Helena was the mother of Constantine the Great. Famed for her piety, she ranks as an important figure in the history of Christianity and of the world due to her influence on her son. Constantine was the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity and played a leading role in the Edict of Milan in 313 which declared religious tolerance for Christians in the Roman empire.
