The modern day village of Ancient Phigaleia has no school, no shops, and (apart from The Ark) no tourist accommodation. There is a taverna that is integral to village life and where locals enjoy family meals.
So what is there to do in the village? In December you can watch the olive harvest. In summer you can swim in the Neda river. But at any time of the year, you can go for a walk. There are many tracks and paths crisscrossing the village and many sites to see. To help you get started, we have designed some walks to suit both your mood and ability.
