HOME FARMS
To a greater or lesser extent, every inhabited house is a home farm. Many villagers produce their own staple foods - largely homegrown fruit and vegetables and dairy products (eggs, milk, cheese and yogurt).
     People also preserve foraged food and, amongst other things, you will see mountains of walnuts drying in the sun; pomegranates hanging from pergolas and piles of seasonal pears just chilling out.
     Some people also make their own bread and / or keep bees for honey which has been used as a sweetener since antiquity.
